
This week’s planting report comes from C.J. Parker, Case IH Crop Production Specialist covering Michigan, northwest Ohio and the northern half of Indiana. C.J. grew up on a corn and soybean farm in Dwight, Ill., about 80 miles south of Chicago. His dad, uncle and cousin still operate the farm. At Case IH for more than two years, C.J. spent the previous five years as a seed production agronomist. Dave Brennan is the Case IH Crop Production Specialist for Nebraska, Colorado and southern South Dakota. He grew up on a diversified farm in northwest Iowa, raising corn, soybeans and livestock. Joining Case IH right after college, Brennan has served in a variety of roles with the company, including parts and quality supervisor at the Grand Island combine manufacturing facility, field service rep, Manager of Field Service Operations, Parts & Service rep and Precision Farming Product Specialist, before assuming his current post. Give your plants more breathing room AND increase plant populations without changing cropping practices. Case IH Twin-Row planters allow you to stagger seed in two rows, eight inches apart, on 30-, 36-, 38- or 40-inch centers without having to make modifications to existing harvesting or spraying equipment. For example, a corn head set for 30-, 36-, 38- or 40-inch rows can harvest twin rows at the same time. (more…)
